KIETLA Wazz sunglasses feature a classic adult Keyhole design, so they look more like mommy and daddy. The sunglasses have no screws, eliminating the risk of small parts getting from a child’s fingers to their mouth. The glasses have a very flexible, durable one-piece frame. The lenses offer high-level category 3 UV protection and are made from durable polycarbonate.

Should a baby wear sunglasses? Babies’ and children’s eyes should be carefully protected against harmful sun radiation, especially on hot, sunny summer days, as their protective ability is low: a child’s pupil is wide, the lens is crystal clear and they tend to look up more than adults. Children are at greater risk of eye damage from excessive sun exposure.

Do regular dark lenses also protect babies’ eyes? It is not the dark lens that protects against sun radiation, but the UV protection. Wearing glasses with UV-untreated, merely darkened lenses is extremely dangerous for the eyes, because the eye’s natural protection functions: squinting and pupil contraction, do not engage with dark lenses. As a result, significantly more UV rays enter the eye than without wearing sunglasses.
