The sunglasses come with an adjustable strap and a pouch. They are packaged in a case that can later be used as a pencil case or another holder.
Special features of the sunglasses:
- 100% unbreakable frame
- Very lightweight (weighs 9 gr)
- Extremely flexible arms – there’s no danger of the arms breaking if a child twists them!
- One-piece frame with no screws – safe, in case a screw ends up in a child’s hand!
- High category 3 protection against harmful UVA, UVB, and UVC sun rays
- Blue light filter (for screen devices)
- Very durable polarized polycarbonate mirror lenses
- The sunglasses do not press on the child’s head or nose.
- Comes with a nice package, pouch, and strap for securing the sunglasses
Usage: Although Kietla sunglasses are very durable and the frame is unbreakable, they are not toys. Please ensure that your child does not rub them against stones or chew on them. In such cases, the lenses may become scratched.
Do children need to wear sunglasses?
Babies’ and children’s eyes must be especially well protected from harmful sunlight on hot, sunny summer days, as their eyes’ protective ability is low: a child’s pupil is wide, the lens is crystal clear, and moreover, they look up more than adults do. Children are at a higher risk for sun-related eye damage.
Do regular dark glasses also protect babies’ eyes?
What protects the eyes from the sun’s radiation is not a dark lens, but UV protection. Wearing sunglasses with just dark-tinted lenses without UV protection is extremely dangerous for the eyes, because the eye’s natural defense mechanisms—squinting and the contraction of the pupils—do not function behind dark lenses. As a result, much more UV radiation enters the eye than if you wear no sunglasses at all.
