Herbow washing soda with soapnuts is a multi-purpose cleaning product consisting of sodium carbonate and ground soapnuts. It can be used when washing laundry to boost the effectiveness of detergent, for soaking textiles and softening water, and for cleaning various kitchen utensils.

Washing soda helps remove stubborn dirt and stains and neutralize unpleasant odors.

Use for laundry washing

To boost the effectiveness of detergent: add 10 g of washing soda to the detergent compartment per 5 kg load of laundry in addition to the regular detergent, and start a suitable wash program.

For soaking: dissolve 1–2 tablespoons of washing soda in 5 liters of water. Place the textiles in the solution and leave to soak for 1–2 hours. If necessary, the textiles may be left to soak overnight and then washed as usual. Soak textiles with blood stains only in cold water.

For softening water: add 10 g of washing soda to the detergent compartment for medium-hard water and 20 g for hard water.

Use in the kitchen

For dishwashing: add 20–30 g of washing soda to 5 liters of water. If necessary, the amount may be increased.

For cleaning cutting boards and wooden kitchen utensils: clean with a washing soda solution, rinse with hot water, and leave to dry.

For cleaning burnt pots and pans: fill the vessel with a washing soda solution and heat until boiling.

Please note: do not use washing soda to clean wool or silk textiles. Do not use on waxed surfaces or aluminum cookware. Washing soda may dry out the skin, therefore use protective gloves if necessary.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists, seek medical advice.
